Coaches
Mr. Strickland is a veteran educator with a Masters Plus 45 in Administration and Supervision. He graduated with honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from Middle Tennessee State University.
He has been recognized as an outstanding educator by the Southern Region Education Board and has been a featured speaker at the National High School's That Work Conference in New Orleans. In his previous position, his school was recognized with the Platinum School Award for being one of the top high schools in the United States. Mr. Strickland has also been recognized with a Chick-Fil-A Excellence in Education Award as a teacher. Throughout his career in education he has taught multiple subjects including U.S. History, World History, Advanced Placement Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Head Strength Coach, and Health and Physical Education.
John Strickland has been a department chair for both the science and physical education departments. His academic teams have achieved great success such as having the highest composite score and collective growth and pass rate for the state on End of Course exams. Mr. Strickland has also served as an administrator and been a successful coach and athletic director.
