Coaches
Coach Presnell is beginning his 9th year of teaching and his 6th year in the Central cluster. Coach Presnell played college baseball for two years at Columbus State University and finished his college career playing at Piedmont University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Coach Presnell then graduated from Piedmont University again with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. Coach Presnell began his teaching and coaching career at Locust Grove High School, where he was a varsity assistant coach and helped lead the team to 2 state playoff runs and a final four appearance. Coach Presnell moved to Carrollton in 2020 and taught at Central Middle School for two years while working under Coach Shiver as the Varsity pitching coach for the Lions. In the three years Coach Presnell has been at the helm, the Lions have been to the state playoffs each year and in 2024-2025 led the team to the Sweet 16 and a 22-11 record. Coach Presnell is married to Jordan Lee Presnell, who is also an active part of Carroll County Schools as a math teacher and cheerleading coach at Villa Rica High School. They have a newborn son named Elliott!
Coach Young is beginning his 12th year of teaching and his 3rd with the Central cluster. Coach Young played college baseball at Shorter University and graduated with his bachelor's in Sports Management from The University of West Georgia. Coach Young also graduated from The University of West Georgia with his Master's in Special Education. Coach Young began his teaching and coaching career at Mt. Zion Middle School, where he served as the school’s Athletic Director, Head Football Coach, and Head Baseball Coach from 2015-2018. Coach Young taught at Drake Middle School in Auburn, Alabama from 2018-2020 and 2022-2024. From 2020-2022 Coach Young taught at Heard County High School and coached softball under Coach Hornsby, where they won the AA State Championship in 2020 and the A State Championship in 2021. Coach Young is entering his 3rd season as an assistant baseball coach at Central High School. Coach Young resides in Bowdon with his 7-year-old son, Cal.
Coach Aldridge is beginning his 4th year of teaching and his 1st year in the Central cluster. Coach Aldridge played college baseball at Lagrange College where he received his Bachelor’s degree in History. Coach Aldridge began his teaching and coaching career at Temple High School, where he was a softball and baseball assistant. For the last 2 years he was the head baseball coach at Temple. Coach Aldridge is married to Lindsey Aldridge, who is also an active part of Carroll County Schools as a 2nd grade math teacher at Temple Elementary.
Coach Hickman enters his second year of teaching and coaching at Central High School. Prior to joining the Central coaching staff, he played collegiate baseball at Snead State Community College before earning his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of West Georgia.
As a coach, Coach Hickman is committed to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field. He emphasizes hard work, accountability, discipline, and teamwork while striving to develop players into successful young men who compete with integrity and represent Central High School with pride.
Outside of baseball, Coach Hickman is engaged to Reese Juneau, a registered nurse at Tanner Hospital. He is excited to continue building the baseball program and helping his players reach their full potential both in the classroom and on the diamond.
