My name is Joshua Sauls, and I have the privilege of being the coach of eSports here at Central High School. The 2026 - 2027 school year marks the tenth year that I have been an educator and my sixth year as a coach.
When I was in high school, I played football and baseball, but every day that I was at home, I was playing video games. I played them so much that I became a semi-pro in Halo. I also competed at very high levels in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I mention this because when I was in school, I always wanted to have a team to compete with while I was there. Yes, I loved playing other sports, but my passion was in gaming, and it still is today. That’s why when I was offered the opportunity to start an esports program here at CHS, I jumped at the chance. I bring the enthusiasm that I have always had for competitive gaming as well as my years of experience at playing at the higher levels of competition. I want to be able to have students showcase the set of skills that they have by bringing them to that higher level of competition in gaming. Together, we can absolutely do this!
